Chaudhary Devi Lal University, Sirsa is named after Jan Nayak Chaudhary Devi Lal, the former Deputy Prime Minister of India and the former Chief Minister of Haryana. It has been constituted by the Government of Haryana in 2003 by an Act of the Legislative Assembly. The University has been named in the honor of the former Deputy Prime Minister of India, late Chaudhary Devi Lal. The University has great potential for developing into a centre of academic excellence to cater the students belonging to Haryana and other states of the country.
