DU CATE 2019-20 Syllabus Delhi University Admission B.A. (Honours) English Entrance.
- CATE 2019-20 will be held on June 2019-20. The durduon ofthc test will be 2 hours.
CATE is designed to test a candidate’s aptitude br BA ( Hons) English as a cotwse of study, and to that end, it aims at evaluating language, grammar, and writing skills as wellas general literary awareness.
- The question paper will consist of two parts. Part A will comprise multiple choice question (MCQs) and Part B descriptive-answer type questions (comprehension and essay/creative piece). Students will attempt both parts in the same sitting. However, only the scripts of the students who qualify in Part A will have their Part B scripts evaluated.
- The final aptitude quotient, known as the CATE score, will be determined by collating the CLass Xli Examination marksBest4) and the CATE marks on a ratio of 30:70. A merit list of candidates will be made on the basis of such a collation. Separate merit lists will be prepared by the Department of English, University of Delhi for different categories (General and OBC) along with one consolidated ment list. The participating colleges will admit candidates to the course on the basisof eut-olTpomts declared by them after the CATE scores are announced.
There will be no negative marking
