TISS Cut off 2010 Admission test 2016-17 Analysis.

TISS Admission test 2016-17 Analysis
TISS Admission test 2011-13 was divided into two parts like the previous years’ exams. Part-I of
the test was a 45-minute test common to the aspirants of all the courses. Part-II of the test was
course specific. Part-I of the test had 50 questions divided into three sections. There was no
negative marking and no sectional cut-off marks in Part-I of the test.

TISS 2010
Like last year TISS-2010 had a compulsory Part-1 paper (common for all courses) which had 50 Qs from Analytical & Numerical Ability, Language Ability and Awareness of General & Social Issues and a Part-2 paper which was different for each of the programs that are offered by TISS. However for those who opted for the HRM & LR course, TISS-2010turned out to be amixed bag – Part-1 which had easy Qs where the number of attempts matters more than anything else; and Part-2 which had too many questions and too less time allocated to it given the higher difficulty level. Thus Part-1 would have given students some breath to take but Part-2 was not the same case.

Part-1
Part-1 of the TISS paper was a cakewalk and most students would have been able to solve all Qs within the given time. This Part had three sections with around 15-20 Qs in each. some questions from GK:
AIDS abbreviation
Which is not a part of SAARC?
Taslima Nasrin is the author of which book?

Attempts in the range of 40-45 should be considered to be very good with a possible score of 15+ marks. (keeping 0.40 marks per question)

Part 2

No. of Qs : 75
Description : 5 Sections (Data interpretation, Data Sufficiency, Reading Comprehension,
Business knowledge and Foundation of Management)

This part was on the line of previous year set but had some surprise as DI questions increased to 20 from 10 last year. RC questions were more than last year.
Questions were asked in GK were from diverse fields, some questions were asked on Dabbawallahs,BPO etc. This section was bit lengthy.

Attempts in the range of 42-46 should be considered to be very good with a possible score of 25+ (keeping 0.67 marks per question)

Sectional Scores and Overall Cut-Off
TISS has clearly mentioned that there are NO sectional cut-offs this year. The paper mentioned that Part-2 had a 75% weightage but has not mentioned the weightage per Questions.
