Orissa Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE) governed by Industries Department, Government of Orissa came out with the concept of holding a common admission test for all the Professional degree courses (B.Tech. / MBBS / BDS / MBA / MCA /Architecture /Pharmacy/ PGDM/ PGCM/ PGDM [Executive] / M.Tech / M.Pharm / M. Arch) of the State. The basic purpose was to select candidates for consideration for admission to the State Colleges (Both private and Govt.) on the basis of the results of a single competitive examination, which would lead to saving of time, energy and expenditure on the part of the candidates in appearing at number of entrance tests.
The OJEE is responsible for conducting the entrance examination, generation of ranks and carrying out the counselling process for admission into professional courses with a view to produce quality technical manpower in the field of Engineering and Technology, Medical, Pharmacy, Management programs in approved Govt. / Govt. aided / Self-financed Institutions and University / Departments following the norms and standards as prescribed by AICTE, MCI and other governing councils.
